It’s been a while. And we’ve been busy taking the first steps in making the vision become reality. During the development of our community investment plan we listened, designed, and redesigned based on feedback from young people, families, professionals, and elders. Each step of the conversation inspired design work and new thinking about the economics of values-based development – how development in Albina creates Black wealth building as well as a new community rich in relationships and grounded in the history and resilience of Black Portlanders. Now, we’re in phase two: determining and creating the tools for realization.
